Apples preferred format, MP4 can play on most other devices as well. Thankfully, there are two containers that are getting the most use today: MOV and MP4.

In essence, they want to control who has access to the videos, and having that player somehow allows the system to do that… I don’t pretend to understand it, so much as I know that they’re currently producing these renders in Camtasia, which is outputting the MP4, HTML player, and all that other junk (which… again… I’m not an HTML guy, but it would seem that the other junk is a byproduct of the render and totally unnecessary). MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14) is the most common type of video file format. Find video editing software cumbersome to fix low quality exported videos Use Stellar Repair for Video Way 6: Convert videos to a compatible format like MP4. Higher resolution means more detail, and because it has more pixels, more color information.

Lesser-used, smaller resolutions include 1280x720 (720p, also an HD format), or 720 x 480 or 720 x 576 (SD).

I’m a “video guy,” not a “server and HTML code” guy, but in a nutshell, I was told videos need to have an associated player due to some sort of preventing local saving and sharing with unauthorized viewers.Īpparently, there’s some sort of security layer happening where having the HTML player allows our internal archiving/sharing system to link to the player, not the video itself, which prevents the video from being saved locally and then shared… I really don’t understand how that works, and frankly the logic there seems pretty shaky, considering all the other ways to “save” videos without having the originating MP4 file… But I’m just following the rules as I’ve been told them. The most common now are 1920 x 1080 (1080p, or Full HD) or 3840 x 2160 (2160p, or UHD or 4K). Once you have made your selection, right-click, and select Generate Optimized Media.

There’s a complicated answer that I really don’t entirely understand myself. Select your desired media in the Media Pool by pressing the Control key while you click on the clips you want to select to highlight multiple clips.
